We work with people of all faiths and backgrounds to overcome conditions of injustice and build lasting peace in Europe and around the world.
Mission
We work to overcome injustice and inequality, build conditions for human dignity, and foster peace. We are a Berlin-registered association developing our own programs in peacebuilding, human rights, and humanitarian response, and building partnerships with European and German institutions, civil society, and Quaker communities. We work closely with the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), a Quaker organization active in relief, development, and peacebuilding since 1917, drawing on nearly a century of shared experience as we build our own work in Germany and Europe.
Our work builds on a long tradition of Quaker service in Germany & Europe.
For decades, AFSC has partnered with German Friends through Quakerhilfe e.V. and Quakerhilfe Stiftung, whose individual-giving and community work remain central to that tradition. Alliance Germany takes on a distinct, complementary role — connecting this Quaker heritage to European and German institutions — and we look forward to finding new ways to collaborate as we grow.
Our current portfolio of work includes peacebuilding initiatives in Palestine, Jordan, Myanmar, Cambodia, South Sudan, Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Mexico.
Our Programs
Peace & Conflict Transformation
We develop and support nonviolent, community-based approaches to conflict transformation.
Migration & Human Rights
We advocate for the rights and dignity of migrants, refugees, and displaced communities.
Humanitarian Response
We support communities affected by crisis and conflict through partnership and direct engagement.
Civil Society & Institutional Partnership
We build partnerships between European institutions, German civil society, and grassroots peacebuilding organizations, including in the Global South countries.
Building Our Programs
As a newly founded organization, we are building our own program portfolio and German-based staff presence over the coming years, in close dialogue with Quaker and civil society partners in Germany and Europe.
